I was just given a working Concertone 505 reel to reel TEAC 505 .....1960-63 this thing is a tank and loaded with Mullard and Telefunken tubes .....Only problem I can see is the counter belt (O-ring) is stretched. It's a major chore to replace ....I'm thinking I'll cut an o-ring and glue it , as there is a motor mounting post in the way....The motors are impressive Big,Quiet,Fast.....and the unit is over 35 lbs I checked on e-bay and you tube ....lot's of info and pricey .....I'm not going to alter it in any way if the caps prove good ....the early Japanese builds are jewels.
