Tasty playing. He makes it look so easy. It's not - I picked up a Supro lap steel at auction. I struggle.

This guy, Luke Cyrus Goetze, is the best I've heard on a lap steel with the palm benders. I have the same lap steel, but haven't learned how to use those palm levers yet and the volume pedal.

They come with 2 palm benders stock, he added the 3rd bender. You can set up the benders to either go up or down in pitch.

He changed the PUP's on his, 'string-through' in the bridge and gold foil for the neck. His are new Lollar's. Supro/Oahu/ValcoValco used the 'string -through' PUP.

From Lollar's web site;

The String-through Steel is based on the SuproŽ/Oahu/Valco "string-through" pickup used on the "Coodercaster." This humbucking pickup sounds like a single-coil, with a clear, clean tone, despite its unusually high output. The steel plate cover spreads the magnetic field to surround the strings. This increases the pickup's sensitivity while reducing magnetic pull on the strings, resulting in increased sustain.

Constructed with Alnico 5 magnets, a split-coil for hum cancelling, adjustable poles and a chrome-plated top that looks as good as the pickup sounds. Our pickup is not built as part of the bridge and tailpiece which allows you to mount it on many different guitar models.

I think the PUP's that come stock sound great on mine. Although, those string through PUP's that were used on many lap steels have a wonderful clear full sustaining tone.

And here's the same guy, tuned down to open G with a low C 6th string.
