My biggest issue with working on my amp is saying- that’s it! Done! And putting it back in the cab. So fun and also consuming but in a good way. I’ve learned a lot just spending time on the bench trying a lot of different ways to get to the place where I am now happy. How many of you agree? It’s the hardest thing to say done.

My Favorite amps that I use a lot now has been a series of changes/mods over the years. As you gain knowledge you sometimes realize what you thought was right back then wasn't so good, so you fix it and move on. So just because you have put the lid on, don't mean it's over:>)

Maybe you just need more amps....I have enough that some have not been opened up in years (But I know they will be) others ask for more attention than they should. The first amp I ever really revived was the 64 thunderbolt I revived ....I picked it up for $60 brought it home ....no light bulb limiter only a multi-meter and a soldering iron ...I original untested and sitting in an open polebarn for years. plugged it in and it played well for 5 minutes....then caps failed .I recapped it 3 prong and have not been back in since. 20 years ago and I've been on this site ever since. Still working great, Other amps aren't as co-operative ...but I know when I close them up the wheel of fortune starts to spin.....So I tell the amp before I close it up "I'll Be Back"

i've wanted one for 40 years, last year it became a need, the Monsanto mutations had consumed 1/2 my property n I wasn't getting any younger. I'd fight the mutations n loose every time, so I did what i've done most of life, n was heard by HIM. That evening I was off to a farmers home to play some cards n hang out with like minded folk, on the way there, passed the tractor supply place as they were off-loading n park'n a dozen or more sub-compacts with front loaders n 12" buckets.....
this piece of dirt i'm on isn't mine, i'm just the latest caretaker trying to leave it better than I found it.
