Title: PSA

In April of 2025 I collapsed in the yard while mowing grass. There wasn’t anyone around. I laid there about an hour before my neighbor came home and happened to see me. His wife came over and took my pulse and blood pressure and called 911.  I was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation.  The doctor prescribed Eliquis, Digoxin, and Metoprolol. After a year on Metoprolol, I quit taking it. It never controlled the atrial fibrillation. I only experienced the side effects.

Last March I had my first colonoscopy at age 72. I had been passing blood in my stools and I assumed it to be related to the Eliquis I was taking for my atrial fibrillation. The doctor found cancer. CT scans MRI scans were performed to better locate the tumor. The doctor performed laparoscopic surgery to remove a section of my colon. Lab testing determined the cancer to be malignant. I had a foot of my colon removed and I am now in my fifth week of twelve weeks of chemo treatment. If you are over the age of 35, get a coloscopy. It’s painless. Polyps can be removed during the procedure before they become cancerous.
