I ended up with a pile of 6n2p-EV tubes, which I'm planning on tinkering with for my personal amp builds. Pin 9 is a shield that is supposed to be grounded, but I'm not sure what the best practice is for that. Should I ground it to the main signal ground near the input jack, or is it fine to ground it to the chassis nearby?

I would use a ground lug connected to the mounting screw of the tube socket. Neat and short.

That sure is the answer I was hoping for! Thank you.
