Title: Upgraded tools etc
Post by: Animatic on June 23, 2008, 07:07:49 am
I just did a Bangkok road trip to the Ban Mor electronics section.

Got a InsTECH Function Generator
with sine, triangle and square waves,
plus a duty adjust to make one part of the wave l
onger in period if I want.
This matches perfectly with the InsTECH dual trace scope I have.
After a burn in period they are both nice n' stable up to 3meghz.
it has several ranges that are dead on, no level change,

I want to test my Protools word clock lines etc,
so 1meghz is useful to me.

I also got a nice little ATTEN 936B solder station;
multi temp, fast recovery with temp matching indicator.
And 2 extra tips, this should improve my work a lot.
It has a stand and sponge wipe, and I also got a metal brillo
type tip cleaner device.

I found a wire wound 100w 10[ch937] heat sinkable power resister.
I really don't want to build amps over 35w, except maybe some
monster bass amp at some point. But not for the moment.
This should be reasonably close to 8[ch937]s for most purposes.

A few sweet 'inner nose hair small' tweezers and fine point cutters,
and a PILE of multi core cable for mic and line signals in the studio.
Soldering on the tiny tele patchbay REALLY demands this new
soldering station.
