 What is typically causing hiss in the amp? In my case it comes
either from PI or power tubes. Microphonic tube, radio demodulation...?

 Usually noisy tube or noisy carbon comp resistor.

 Also, the Vox-style long-tail pair PI tends to be quite a bit more hissy than the Fender/Marshall style for some reason, probably to do with higher plate current.
