Current Rating of Power Transformers
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have acquired some nice NOS power transformers. These are not marked in any way. The voltage of each winding is easy enough to determine, but what about the current capability. Anyone know of a way to determine this. I'm thinking maybe by loading with a series of resistors and watching the voltage drop. But at what voltage point does the loading need to stop??????

I only know one way, and I am sure there are easier ways to do this.
You need either a BIG rheostat or preferably a Variac, an analog ampmeter, a fise holder & fuses, a load, and a few other things.
