Title: Dumble boards
Post by: sawdust on October 05, 2008, 06:15:21 am
Dumble boards, I had to split the files between 2 posts. This is based off of #124, all Dumble amps had different values, basically these are accepted generic values. I did combine the FET and B+5 parts onto one board. You can also do that for the hv/bias and relay power board as well. There is more detailed Dumble info at www.ampgarage.com; they have complete layouts of the amp. As well as other variations of the same amp. A note on the FET board, I combined the large cap and resistor on the right (B+5) onto one board. The original had those 2 components on a turret strip.

Hi Sawdust and BNWitt,

I really like your professional-looking Visio layouts - do you use Visio Templates, and if so where can I get them from?

I've been trawling the net, but so far I've not found anything.

BTW, I'm using Visio Pro 2003

Cheers, Colin

Voxbox,
several of us in this forum have created our own stencils.  It's really not hard to do and populating them with components is just a matter of drawing the component to scale, dragging it into the stencil, naming it and saving the template.  As we have gone along we have shared our stencils with each other.  It's all kind of blurry as to who created what object now.  If you would like my tube amp related stencils let me know your email and I'll send a zip file to you with them all.  You just save them in your "my shapes" folder and open them in Visio.  You can also create a tube amp template file which opens up with a set page size and/or scale and all of the stencils preloaded.  To do that you just creat a new drawing, set your default page and scale, open the stencils you want in it and then save it as a template vst file.  I have one setup for amps and one setup for schematics.  You could actually have them set up for different chassis size amps, solid state or tube amps etc.  I'm using Pro 03 too.
