Title: Switches, etc ... bells & whistles
Post by: tubenit on January 04, 2009, 06:32:39 am
Someone on the forum was asking about mods to change tones, etc..... so I drew this. Leave me a PM if you see any errors.

Brilliant!!  ;D Just what I needed. Handy Mods all in the one place. Saves hours of searching. Thanks, I really appreciate your work.

Ive always wanted to try that  little circuit you call "Local NFB"  on a 2204 type setup. Where would be the best spot. Its a dumble trick isnt it

I'm not sure where one would use local negative feedback on a 2204?

Instead of a full/bright/fat switch you could use a pot. Attach all the caps +s to the cathode and the -s of the two caps to either side of a pot and ground the lug. 0 would be full 10 would be fat 5 would be bright. Or any where in between.

I use a full/bright/fat switch on my pre now and use each position regularly.  I would be interested in trying the pot idea though. What value pot would you recommend so there isn't a lot of movement in the middle of pot travel where it does nothing?

@Tubenit, would you mind re-posting the first image in the original post titled "Bells and whistles.GIF"?  It's not loading for me, but the other two are and I landed here from general rabbit-holing on amp mods - would love to have all the schems mentioned for reference.

Thank you, either way!

I would be glad to help if I could but alas, I no longer have that GIF on my computer.

My guess is the other posts and GIF cover everything in the first one anyway.
