Title: Low Watt psuedo Plexi's
Post by: tubenit on November 13, 2006, 04:40:05 pm
This is the final version.

I decided to parallel the V1 tube.  This is one of the more versatile amps I have played. Has lots of different tone to it. I have a 5751 in the V1 & V4 position and the harmonics are super sweet. Overdrive is really nice.  I can get a Fenderish tone and a Marshallish tone and in between.

The 25watts of power is a nice volume and tone with the overdrive which is very smooth.  Reverb is perfect for me and I never dial it past 5 and usually only to 3.  I also made a version with James tone stack but prefer the Marshall tone stack more.

EDIT:  Texas Raptor is more respresentative of how I do reverb on the layout board now for a psuedo plexi design.

A couple more ideas based on a recent thread.
