Title: Has anyone built any Grizzly guitars?
Post by: Ritchie200 on January 20, 2009, 12:49:19 pm
My Grizzly catalog is a few years old so I don't know if they still sell them.  However, they do look pretty slick.  Someday I would like to do a build from scratch, like some of the fantastic work I have seen you guys do.  However, I do not have the equipment or time to take on a project like that now.  These kits have all the hard work done, great wood and accessories.  All that is needed is finish sand, maybe a headstock contour, stain and cover, then assemble.  Just wondering if anyone here has gone down that road, or have an opinion?

Thanks!
Jim

no idea on grizzly, but have you checked-out warmoth (and their forum where you can discuss assembly) or us custom guitars?

Grizzly has actually expanded their guitar stuff a bit. I get a catalog every year but seldom buy anything there.

Granted, the full complement of tools I have available makes my life much easier, but all you really need is a jig saw, a couple files, a couple clamps, some chisels, and sandpaper.  A router is awfully nice too.
