that's sure funky !

I was thinking of something while watching this video:

I saw SRV at the Montreal forum in 1990 :  he died a couple of weeks after
I saw Albert Collins at the Montreal spectrum: he died a couple of weeks later
I saw Danny Gatton at the Montreal Jazz festival: he died shortly after

In a certain manner, I was lucky to catch them just before they pass away.

After the Albert Collin's show, I went to see him in his .......uhhh.......room ? Anyway, I mean backstage.
I played on his telecaster , not the one in this video, his regular one, the white-yellowish one.
I was surpised by the heavy gauge of the strings he was using: at least .012 , and the gap between the strings and the neck pretty high ! This guy on stage seemed to have fun, he gave a good entertainig show. backstage, he showed a completely different character. He was alone, first, didn't laugh at all, didin't talk to me much, just answering my questions shortly, he seemed at that time to be a man kinda totally discouraged. I can't remember the name of his drummer at that time, ( no it was not Coco Montoya) but gee, that drummer was rocking like hell, how funky he was !!!  Yes, Albert Collins always has been funky.

Keep on rockin'
