I'm a coffee hound---give me that Community Dark Roast :) Black, no cream or sugar---real coffee taste and I collect coffee cups. I was wanting a Hoffman Amplifier coffee cup. It may be one already available but I couldn't find one on the site. Has there ever been a Hoffman Amplifier/Forum coffee cup?? I sure would like one!
-
I wonder what will be on it? Tube? Robot? Race Car driver? Mold Expert? Professor? All of the above?
-
Probably an alian robot with EL34 drivers supplimented by a squirl cage drive for the %$#@ and the Ventures playing fender DR (with Hoffman board) & modified stratocators to the tune of Pipe Line.
-
Of course they'd ship fast enough that the coffee would still be warm. Speaking of.... that dang robot shipped my tubes wrapped in 1/2 a sheet of news paper. Talk about leaving a guy hanging. I could only read 1/2 of the stories. That's like telling a joke w/o the punch line. Evil teasing robot. ;)
BTW: I placed my order after midnight on Friday and the parts arrived Monday. It's magic!
-
It scares me, a lot of us are older, with prescriptions and that robot knows where we live! :D Coffee would still be warm, thats funny... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Dyna

I can see now, we have no Hoffman coffee cup availble or in the works---good I'll start designing one!

Online companies such as CafePress offer all kinds of custom printed wares - mugs, caps, t-shirts, etc. - with no setup fees and some form of revenue sharing.
-
OK here is my design on the attched pdf to match the Hoffman site appearance lettering. It really needs some graphics on it mabe tubes, resistors, amps, speakers --

Here's my submission.

;D ;D ;D I like it.. :D

What?
No beer mug?

Butterylicious
Yours looks good but you need to have Doug's Robot on there up front and alians in background.
-
Yeah, the robot's eyes lasering the aliens, frying them to a crisp, while mouthing the words in that metallic voice: "test. tube. baby..."
-
Here's some more.
-
Wow! You did it. :D It would be nice to have Doug's endorsement/input before we order 10,000 of them. Then we will need wearhouse space to store them, then there is the packers, packing materials and UPS fees. I think $100.00 a cup will cover it but well worth the value. ;D
-
Thing of beauty...
-
i'd need one in 32oz. :o
-
32 Oz!!!!!!You must really have fear-o-Robot!!!!! :D
Seriouly I would like to have a hoffman cup with what I did on one side and Butterylicious's Robot design on the other side of cup. Guess nobody but a few is interested--we would either need to pool together for an order or buy individually from a place like CafePress.

I have been away from the forum a few days and look what happens.
That's funny, a Forum coffee mug. Nice designs.
The ones I like the best holds two cups of coffee, are really thick and have a huge handle.
You can get all four fingers inside the handle, no problem.
The other one I like is from Starbucks.
It has a really heavy metal lower half. It does not like to tip over, which is a nice feature.
In cold weather, like now, I make a 12 cup pot of coffee every morning using Espresso beans from a little coffee shop in Tampa Florida.
I don't make it super strong cause 12 cups of strong tasting coffee would be too much.
The espresso beans don't have as much cafeine as regular coffee, they just have a bunch more flavor.
I take a big thermos to work with me and sip on coffee all day until it's gone.

It's the 21st Century already. As FYL says, there's a dot.com to do that FOR you.
http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/sell/index.aspx?area=shops&page=shops_basic
Basic Shops
Perfect for individuals and families
Open as many shops as you wish for FREE
Integrated into the CafePress.com Marketplace
You upload your image(s). You set your Markup. They list your bootie. If stuff sells, they then take buyers' money, print your image on a blank cup/T-shirt/thong, ship, and send you a check at the end of the month. And if stuff don't sell, the only "cost" is your time and their server-space for images... you don't have a garage-full of printed un-sold thongs.
These are the wholesale costs:
Mug $10.99
Ceramic Travel Mug $17.99
Large Mug $11.99
Organic Cotton Tee $16.99
Cap $14.99
Mini Button $1.49 -- 100 pack $69.99
They suggest a $5 Markup for most things, like:
Product: Organic Cotton T-Shirt with printing on one side only
Base Price: $16.99
Markup: $5.00
Retail Price: $21.99
Markup earned from sale: $5.00
So 100 basic mugs at $11 raw + $5 markup is zero up-front (assuming Doug has a suitable logo-file), $1,600 from us suckers, $500 check to Doug. And if some of us want the super-mug, and others want the thong, it's no big headache for anybody.
Yeah, my everyday cup was $1, but I'm still on salary, I could go $25 for a super-mug.
Here's a shop knows what "Guitar Acquisition Syndrome" is:

Love style? Then drink this up, because our eye-catching ceramic tumbler is a work of art. Plus it's also a workhorse -- thanks to a solid design with steel inner-sleeve that's ideal for hot or cold beverages. Holding a full 15 oz. and fitting into most vehicle's cup holders (includes snap-tight lid), it's also a great choice for travel.
Measures 7" tall
Holds 15 oz.
Ceramic outer shell, with stainless steel inner sleeve
Gasket-sealed lid, with snap tight closure
Hand wash only
The only real problem: once you at CafePress' site, you see similar products.... that "Squirrel with Blue Guitar Ceramic Travel Mug" sure is cute. And under-priced.
-
hoffman thongs?!?!! yikes. Now there is an image: aliens and robots wearing thongs.
-
i'm in for a large mug... 24-32oz.. the heavy one. i'd throw $25.00 in for one... 8) i drink about a pot a day. i like light blends. mmm...more caffeine.
<twitch, twitch>
PRR, you can keep the thongs. :-X

Hi kids!
That Sizzler up there on the mug? That's my design from my shop (www.cafepress.com/techatfirstsite) (http://www.cafepress.com/techatfirstsite)). I tracked back through Statcounter from the moderator PRR who came to my site. This is our Cafepress store.
But we prefer this one: www.zazzle.com/rockatfirstsite (http://www.zazzle.com/rockatfirstsite)
Not that you're asking for advice, but I thought I'd offer some up anyways! ;D Cafepress is okay, but those free shops do nothing. But to get anywhere at CP, you really should have a premium shop which costs $6.95 a month. They have only the white travel mug (which they've had only since last October and it's gone out of stock twice already) plus a plain white coffee mug and a beer stein. Zazzle, on the other hand, has much more to choose from in the way of mugs. Plus, there is no fee at Zazzle for any of their shops.
Here's our newest acoustic GAS design.
http://www.zazzle.com/g_a_s_acoustic_blue_mug-168817173989411171 (http://www.zazzle.com/g_a_s_acoustic_blue_mug-168817173989411171)
Honestly? Cafepress has been around longer, and is more well known. But Zazzle is rising fast, and as far as I'm concerned, growing right past Cafepress. For the holidays, we certainly sold more at Cafepress. But since the holidays, we're starting to sell more at Zazzle. I think one of the reasons is that Zazzle just opened up business in Europe. As far as guitars go, we've sold more merchandise to London than anywhere else just since January.
I played guitar in my youth, yes, I'm old, and have hung on to a small collection of guitars which includes a 1976 Les Paul Custom, 1979 American Strat, an old Yamaha acoustic, a couple of Seagulls(for different tunings and stuff plus a 12 string Seagull, a 2000 Mexican tele, and an 00028ec Martin acoustic. Oh yeah, and a 1975 Music Man 210 with the original tubes. It's collecting dust, along with my brain.
Now, I play occasionally, but mostly I've gotten into graphic design. As with the guitar, I'm self taught, but I work with a professional graphic artist who teaches me alot about designing every day. I've just spoken with him about coming up with a simple luthiers design and we've talked a long time about getting a GEAR Acquisition Syndrome design going. I think finding this site might prompt us to get going on those ideas. Someday!
Anyways, I wish you folks the best!

what was that!?!? was that shameless advertising?
-
I believe he was just adding another source, which seems OK. Having some options for a source may help get things going.
-
yeah, it's ok.
I don't see a problem with that.
-
This one goes back a few years....but it was my favorite of all EL34 avatar pictures. (you gotta click on it to get full effect ::) ) It would certainly be a lively looking coffee cup...
Other than that how about the EL34world homepage logo cup and commemorative tshirt?
-
what was that!?!? was that shameless advertising?
What the hey overday! Shameless advertising? Surely you jest!
I thought you'd like to see other options about getting your logo on those mugs. And yes, I gave links to a few examples, but only after links were already posted.
-
Fear not! The robot has approved and all is serene....Now as for me ....there was something very creepy yet intriguingly intoxicating and alluring with "Hello Dave" and I must have watched that a hundred time before I even read anything on the forum...but that was the hook 8)....and I'd want that on my 32 oz. coffee mug
-
> shameless advertising
Bah. I dig the idea of a Hoffman T-shirt, but it don't make sense for Doug to hock a Gibson to build a "wearhouse". CafePress is the pioneer in On-Demand logo-products, and I went there to see what their deal is. While there I snagged a sample product to whet your imaginations. Aside from being "guitar related" and "travel mug", that was utterly random whim.
I have NO connection to CafePress or rockatfirstsite.
I'm a bit startled that rockatfirstsite noticed the surge of hits and followed me back here. But, in effect, "I asked for it", unintentionally. And his post seems like Good Info From An Insider.
And the info about CafePress getting sloppy on stock, and the comparison with zazzle's much flashier product displays, sure is interesting.
Doug's "racket" is amp-parts. rockatfirstsite's "racket" is images (on stuff). So rockatfirstsite's tips about "power selling", while good to know, are perhaps not aimed at Doug. Hoffman who? I'd dig a Hoffman T-shirt, but there are maybe only a few thousand people in the whole world who know Hoffman Amp Parts. If honestly 1% of us dig a shirt/mug enough to throw money, that's a few dozen sales. A hundred sales is optimistic.
If Doug could put-up an image, for a couple hours' work and no cash, we'd have Official Hoffman Booty and Doug could buy new strings.
I didn't mean to get anybody's thong in a bunch.
-
I used to have a cafe Press site for an old band I had. The last band I had, in fact.
That was a few years ago and I wasn't real impressed with the quality and I thought the final price was too high. I went and looked to see if they were still there, too, since I hadn't seen FYL's post way back there. I didn't do any shopping, but it appears they look different than what I remember.
Anyway, I'd score a Hoffman something myself. Not a thong, for sure, but probably something. The other places might be worth checking out, too. Sounds like 47songs has the most current experience.
-
hey PRR, I wasn't referring to you, I was just giving a gentle dig to the first time poster (who I don't think is an amp builder) who followed you back here to post info about his stuff. But as others say, no biggie. So no biggie to me either.
ToN
So now I gotta go and unbunch this thong... man! this is going to take some work.
-
Hope it's a dark color! ;D
-
I don't have a thong, but my knickers may get twisted.
-
So now I gotta go and unbunch this thong...
If this is your first time, please be careful. Buttocks can store a charge and the gasses emitted often are silent but deadly.

careful with that thong... you may hang one of the boys...
for those who like irish coffee or the like...

I forgot about Kermit and Hello Dave.
Excellent memories.
You guys do what you want with whatever you want
T'shirts, mugs, I don't care
I am not interested in selling those goodies, so one of you can be the source.
You guys vote on a designa and then git-r-dun

Hey, with summer on the way, a thong sounds great! Put me down for one. I'll add it to my Speedo collection! :o

Anything new on the cup idea?? ???
-
Wow! This thing was growing, then died! I was hoping Doug would adopt one and start sending all my parts in a mug! :D

Here is a nice place to get the real thing..French Roast is to die for...IMHO anyway...
