Somehow or another, I have really fouled up my Mixcraft II program. I'd like to get it fixed and not have to upgrade to Mixcraft IV.
One of two things possibly happened ........... I tried the Mixcraft IV free trial download which may have corrupted Mixcraft II
OR ...............
Trying to download to Soundclick ........ I had to shrink the MP3 files and so I "adjusted" some stuff (read randomly began changing settings til it worked without knowing what I did or remembering the original settings).
Now Beatcraft and Mixcraft won't line up .......... my old Mixcraft recordings won't play ............ current attempts to record occasionally sound like an audio cassette in a player with batteries wearing down where it drags terribly .......
EDIT: I found some FAQ support on Mixcraft that gives some insignt into possible problems. However, I'd still like some ideas on the correct settings for these two pages?
My 1st attempt is gonna be to try and figure out the Playback and Recording settings to see if that corrects everything?
My next effort will be to see if Acoustica will allow me to delete and reload Mixcraft II and if not take another look at Mixcraft IV or some other program.
Can you guys help me out with what to set these page at?
Thanks, Tubenit

I wouldn't bother with all of that.
I would just uninstall both programs, download fresh copies and re-install.

Did you get er fixed?
-
Not yet. Been incredibly busy lately and just hadn't gotten to it. I plan to get it fixed though.
Thanks for asking. Jeff

I sense an emptyness to your response. How do you feel about your inability to bring about a successful outcome to your dilemma? Did Doug uncover some deep rooted inadequacy by pushing you to perform? Do you experience feelings of dread, impending doom, powerlessness, hypervigilance or alarm, apprehensive self-absorption, and a sense of doubt, vagueness or subjectivity about the nature of this threat? Or, have you had racing heartbeat,
difficulty breathing, feeling as though you 'can't get enough air',
terror that is almost paralyzing, dizziness, lightheadedness or nausea, trembling, sweating, shaking, choking, chest pains, hot flashes, or sudden chills, tingling in fingers or toes ('pins and needles'), fear that you're going to go crazy or are about to die - when you think about trying to tackle this Mixcraft mixup? I detect an underlying patern of delusions, hallucinations, disorganized speech (e.g., frequent derailment or incoherence), grossly disorganized or catatonic behavior, and negative symptoms (i.e., affective flattening, alogia, or avolition). Unfortunately, if you do not get help soon, you are destined to have intense and recurrent sexual impulses, fantasies or behaviors which involve unusual activities, settings or objects and cause significant distress or impaired functioning.
How do you feel about this?
Jim ???

Thanks Jim, That helped me quite a lot and I don't even have Mixcraft ;D

I thought it was actually quite clever and remarkably funny! Your sense of humor is a riot & I am not sure how you knew some of that stuff without either being in the field ......... or on the couch (so to speak)............ hmmm??
It was well done .... bravo! The existential angst was totally getting to me!!
Thanks, Tubenit

NO! NO! NO! Funny? Funny?!?! I'm not trying to be funny.
It was meant to incite you to listen to some ear-bleeding 140dB music!
It was meant to incite you to grab your fav guitar and smash it into a million pieces.
It was meant to incite you to then THROW those pieces out into whatever crowd you might be entertaining.
It was meant to incite you to set fire to your fav amp and then throw it off the stage into whatever crowd you might be entertaining.
And FINALLY my brother, it was meant to incite you to look back on it and think, "Now THAT.....was too cool!"
You see, only after you have completed that 5th step of my 5 step rehab - only then would I know that you had been cured! You would be rid of all your angst and be SAVED! Your tortured soul would come alive and you would be a NEW MAN! All that pent up frustration would be gone. You will suddenly crave rediculously high powered amps! Your only guitar will be a strat. Too cool, huh? DO I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION!?!? You will make fun of 6L6 and 6V6 amps - kiddy toys! EL34? HA! Getting closer, but still for the amatuers! Think about it my brother, THINK about the possibilities! You will become more powerful than you ever thought possible! No force in the universe (or California) can stand in your way! Think of it as a crossing over. No, not to the dark side - but to a utopian place that is a dark shade of Purple! Can I have an "AMEN!". Let me HEAR you my brother!
Your guide,
Rev. Jim

Ah ha! That definitely explains the Cathode Follower slant!
I kinda of get it now, but I am still in the "pre-contemplative stage" of recovery which hopefully can take my denial to even further lengths and delay "crossing over".
Best regards, Jeff

Say it with me now...."This is too cool!" You can do it! Let it all out brother! Forget your past opinions and......er....failings... Come on over, go to the Purple light!
-
Hooray! Thanks to Ritchie's deep psychoanalytic insights and treatment ............. AND Mixcraft giving me a free update with Mixcraft 2.5 ................... my recording seems to be recording and playing in time again. I don't know if the update will allow me to record overdriven tones or not but at least I can record stuff.
I'm back on track .............

Mixers, Mix On--
Youse Guys are a trip--Here in Nashville it's almost dark with rain. Old school here, has all kinds of trouble laying down a single song
using the high tech. I get a charge out of the head psycho analysis that youse do to each other. I still use akai reel to reel, then go to a line 6 tone port to usb--but the mic noise is too high! Pro Tools and others are too much for me! Maybe some day, I'll get the hang of Mixing and simple recording. Keep on head banging and I will Learn.

Mackie2,
That exchange was in part due to an inside joke of several months ago - that I am keeping alive! I am a huge Deep Purple fan and Tubenit, due to one of his many failings, is not! ;)
You might want to try Mixcraft! For less than $100, you can get a VERY nice and easy to use package. You just need a good interface from mic or Pod to your computer and that's it! Pretty cool beans! There are several posts about it here or go to the site and check it out on your own.
Good luck!

What!!!! Are you saying I have more than one failing!!!! :o ???
Actually, I am working diligently with the psychiatric community to start a new form of Implosion Therapy
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/implosion+therapy for Deep Purple fans..................
It involves being confined in a large room with laser light shows and walls of blaring Marshall amps on all four sides while
men in purple spandex hurl guitars and smoking Marshall amp heads at you during the 11th billion verse of Smoke on the Water. Alternative therapy involves a Lawrenece Welk inspired polka rap version of Smoke on the Water while in a straight jacket under purple strobe lights. Inital experiments on mice is proving quite promising.
Hopefully, Jim and I will get this sorted out some day over root beer in St.Louis. :D
Best regards, Tubenit

Ummm, EXCUSE ME?!?!?! Here you are braggin' (or should I say BAGGIN'!) about "I'm a super psych shrinkerific regestered therapy meister!" Now...if that was true, you would know that the term is NOT Implosion Therapy....it's EXPLOSION therapy! (see below) You thought you could pull a fast one on us, didn't you!
