Does anyone have a good graphic for a knob scale like used to appear on the faceplates of Fender tweeds and others? I can't seem to draw one worth a crap. I can do the rest of the lettering without a problem, but my dial scales always come out egg-shaped. I need it for a new little toy I'm working toward.

Is this what you're looking for? If so, I can send you a Visio stencil.

That's exactly what I'm looking for, Steve. How the heck did you get the numbers arranged so perfectly?
-
It involved a circle and several equilateral triangles. Basically I built a clock face. You did notice the similarity? The 12th position has no number.
You can resize for whatever you need. May have to adjust font size, color, etc. Check your email.

Actually I just saw a much easier way to make that stencil. Start with a hexagon. Size it to some convenient size. I used 2". Now duplicate the hexagon and rotate it 90 degrees. Stack on top of the other hexagon with the centers snapped to a couple guidelines. Now you have a 12 sided star with connection points at each star point. Should be easy to attach your numbers to each point. You don't need a number at the 6:00 position, since the pots only rotate 330 degrees.
Man, I could have saved a bunch of time if I had realized the hexagon trick when I built my first clock face. Duh!!!

Man, that's terrific! If I could problem solve like you do...
I guess quick reaction problem solving skills help when you prop your feet on 4-65A tubes all day with Va=3kV and Pd=65W.
