Title: How to put a Bone Saddle on an Acoustic/Electric Takamine?
Post by: Terry on March 05, 2009, 02:59:36 pm
Hello, I want to put a bone saddle on my Takamine Acoustic electric?  How do I go about that?  The under the saddle piezo has that metal plate that it and the plastic saddle fit in.  Do I get rid of that?

The Takamine system looks like it was made to take a little pressure off the piezo, in that on either end of the piezo pick up the plastic saddle extended down to meet the bridge surface,in the slot.  The plastic saddle is raised where the piezo pick up is and groved out where the pick ups are not = So the plastic saddle only contacts the piezo pick ups directly under the strings. Any help please.

I'm afraid I'm having trouble visuallizing what you're talking about here, but if it's the kind of system I'm thinking of you really can't replace the saddle effectively.
