Post by: Dynaflow on April 10, 2009, 01:56:19 pm
More Sister Rosetta Tharpe, that suspiciously looks like Muddy Waters to me.. In color a rare clip to be sure:

I don't see Muddy, although I seem to remember that he did some tunes with these guys.  In this clip I think you see Willie Dixon on bass, Lafeyete Leake on Piano, Lee Jackson on guitar, Clifton James on drums, and Big Walter Horton on harmonica.

I sure do dig Sister RT.  My Dad was nuts about her.

My bad, dude on Guitar looked like a younger version of Muddy, had the processed hair that was slicked down. Not a bad line up though, didn't know that was Willie Dixon, he's a legend. Yeah she rocked, I've been digging up clips of her as I can, glad you liked it.

Do you have any vinyl?  If not, let me know.  I have a compilation I made up that (IMHO) really catches her at her best.  It's mostly small group stuff, and she excels in that format.

I thought that was early Muddy Waters also and I saw him twice live.

But I found a picture of Lee Jackson and I think that's the guitarist in the video.

With respect, Tubenit
