Post by: jasperok on May 11, 2009, 06:58:40 am
Hi
I would like to put my layout for my UL Twin Reverb into digital form and think that visio might be the way to go
I am a photoshop teacher though soi guess i could use that but i have seen some guys make fantastic visio layouts
is there an online comonent library that folks use or do you roll your own?

any thoughts welcome

thnaks

I know a few guys use visio, and have posted a few components, try the search.  I use visio, because

(a)  I already owned nen
(b) easy to make layouts to scale
(c) easy to connect and show wires to components
(d) put stuff on layers so that I could then just have a board layer with hole locations.  Print, Overlay, Drill,Done.

Also check with Tubenit, he might be using a form of ExpressSCH for layout design.

Here's my custom stencils from my laptop.

http://home.comcast.net/~seluckey/sluckey_visio_stencils.zip

All the schematics and layouts on my website were created with these custom stencils and the standard stencil sets available with Visio Pro 2007. Take a look to see what you can do with them.

Maybe this will get you started. The zip file will be available for one week only.

On the 'Small Signal and Coupling Capacitors' shapes file, I'm trying to change the "500p" lettering on the 500p mica cap to 470p, then save it as a new shape.  I've know how to do the save new shape part, but how do I change the lettering?  It doesn't respond like text.  I'd try the help file, but I don't know what to ask.

That's right!  I forgot you have to start typing as it doesn't automatically show a text box until you do.  I remember now you told me this at least once already.

Thanks Steve!!!!!!!!!
