Title: instrumental with "HoSo"
Post by: CraigB on June 02, 2009, 06:00:44 pm
you can hear the new amp on the first track on this mixcraft page:

Mic'ed at fairly low volume with a 57 on a single 12 cab, and obviously I played my strat.  Let me know what you think.

Sustain & chime in spades. Not the sort of music I usually listen to but the guitar tones were very enjoyable

Nice clean sounding amp/guitar work.
You be a country boy huh?

Cool stuff Craig

Thanks!  When I get time, I'll do another featuring more distorted tones.  That's what I set out to do in the first place, but the strat just sounded so cool, that's what wound up coming out.

Man, I thought that was a Tele.

Very impressive tone and playing!   That sounds excellent to me!  My 56T reverb sounds somewhat similar but with more mids accented. It has that type of sustain and chimey tones though.

Your amp sounds great!

However, you are a waaayyy better player than me.  I really enjoyed the tune!  Thanks for sharing it.

With respect, Tubenit

Sounds good to me. Lead part I take it was done in pos. 2 or 4 on the strat? Nice and chimey, got a sweet home alabama feeling to it. :D

Regards,

Dyna

THanks for the compliments guys. If you return again to the mixcraft site and click on Alright Now, you can hear the HoSo with a grindier ruder tone (but not too over the top).   Hey Doug, I can make even a LP sound twangy---

Just finished recording, initial mix so it's rougher than the other tunes.  Also I need to punch in at a couple of spots where I got out-of-time, and I'm not much of a bass player so don't laugh!

Nice tight grind to the tone.

Really dynamite tone to your amp!  Super expressive, IMO.  Enjoyed your playing on this one too. Nice job with the song.  I actually think the opening riffs sound better on your amp then the original recording.

Craig,

Both sound samples are absolutely stunning!

I am in the preparation of converting my Sundown A-50 and was considering either to a Matchless Chieftain or Clubman but now I am not so sure ...

Really awesome, Craig.  Is that the SH-11 circuit you posted?

Yep.

Thanks guys for the kind remarks!  As soon as I install VVR in the 30w, I will record my next tune with it.
