i currently have two 5150 cabinets, and a slant JCM 800 lead series cab.
the slant marshall cab was a steal... i opened it up and it was loaded with original 1980's G12-65's. i paid $200 for the cabinet which i found in a local "iwanna" newspaper.
my question is about a matching straight JCM 800 cabinet. (that is original 80's baltic birch and none of that overseas chinese MDF board junk or craftmanship lol)
the model that im going to pick up next saturday is a JCM 800 1960B which is wierd, because i know marshall made 1960B cabinets, JCM 800 and 900 cabinets, and Lead Series cabinets.
does anyone know how to decode marshall cabinet serial numbers? im curious because i thought the guy advertising it made a mistake but it is indeed a 1960B JCM 800 cabinet.
maybe im missing something? any info would be much appreciated
PS. when i go to pick the cabinet up, im taking a battery powered drill and opening the back up to make sure celestions are in it lol, sounds crazy but i dont feel like getting ripped off.
