Kind of obscure thing , but hopeing someone might know.
I just picked up what looks to be an early 80's JCM 800 Cabinet . Got a fairly good deal on it- one ninety shipped.
The Grillcloth looks like a light straw brown color, and from waht ive been able to determine from looking around the web, it looks as if this was a cabinet from a certain batch of Marshalls from that particular time where the black faded to a light straw brown.
It looks cool- kind of like an old 60's basketweave.Anyone know anything definitive on this grillcloth? I Don't believe Marshall ever issued a G12-75 loaded JCM cabinet in the early to mid '80's that was a limited edition or a reissue with brown grillcloth, did they?
Anyhoo, my other question question is about the speaker screws in the cabinet. They are all Flatheads. I was under the mistaken impression that all JCM's all used phillips, but i guess there must have been some overlap from the Checkerboard era where for a certain amount of time where they used up the inventory of remaining flatheads?
Also, does anyone know the specific thread size, as I am missing two flatheads frm the cabinet and as I understand it, the originals are scarce.
Thanks again everybody , you've been a great help and I do appreciate it.
