Being about 5, I remember watching it on a Heathkit TV my dad just built.  No cabinet, all exposed - it was too cool.  Mind you to a 5 yr old, everything was too cool.

Where were you when they landed?

I was in Westport NY at a summer camp... There was a B&W TV that half the camp huddled around.  I was in close and saw the entire thing... I was 10.
