Title: DAT to WAV
Post by: Bassmanster on July 23, 2009, 02:38:48 pm
I have an old DAT that is the master tape from my old, old band's recording session.  I think it's 48/16 and want to get it converted to a set of WAVs at that resolution.  Without ever touching analog.

Anybody know a place that can do that?

did you try any of the free software on the net?  I just googled "DAT to WAV" and a number came up.

Yeah, those must be from the .dat file format or something.

I think I have a solution now (that will involve picking up an old DDS drive w/ audio firmware).

What neck of the woods do you live in?  I have a DAT machine around here somewhere and my DAW has SPDIF I/O's.  That's the hardware you need.  Pretty much any audio software can do the deed.

That's true!  Flawdah.  I should be borrowing a deck soon.  No spdif in but I'll see how it sounds analog I guess.

Thanks.
