Title: New SSC P7 heat sink for Marwi conversions
Post by: EL34 on July 25, 2009, 03:09:59 pm
I had a CNC shop lathe me up 100 SSC P7 heat sinks that drop right into the Marwi halogen light bodies.
This was the final piece of the conversion puzzle that I needed to solve to make is easier for people to do their own DIY conversions.

These things were not cheap to have made, but they came out awesome.
The machine shop wanted $5 more per heat sink to drill and tap some holes.
I decided to have them make the heat sinks plain with no holes and I would finish them off here.

They cost me a bit more than I wanted, but the price of the Marwi light bodies are so cheap that it balances out nicely.

The heat sink has two wire holes and two 1-72 threaded holes for mounting the P7. It also comes with two stainless steel 1-72 screws.
I also added some engraving to the machined version for the + and - wires.

I have a bunch of large images and info on how all the parts go together on a Marwi halogen light conversions, here.
