What about a PRR book?

From another thread about another author: "I'm thinking about purchasing these books, but holy crap they're expensive."

I think I could sell two dozen $50 books, a hundred $10 books. $1,000 gross, minus printing, shipping, etc etc.

To do a good job would take months of long hours.

It works out to like a dollar an hour.

Incidently, I have offered some very excellent old books on another busy forum, and have not got the least nibble. People don't buy books, they want the free feed at forums and websites. (Much of it not worth the price.)

^I'll always get the book. Better on the eyes and there's just something about opening up a book (it's analog for the eyes!). Besides you can't take the tower into the crapper.

I prefer to read info from the web.
I have a large stack of cool old tube books.

I may get rid of most of them.
There's a couple I may keep, like the old Navy training book

Personally, I think you'd do a little better than that, but I completely understand your point.  The emphasis on "good" really puts it into perspective.  It would take forever and a book is a legacy.  Nothing short of exceptional is acceptable.  On one hand it's a shame because you have a gift for words, but in reality, I'm happy absorbing the threaded conversation.  In 8 out of 10 aspects, it's better than a book.
