Title: Do your "Gibson" potentiameters speak Chinese?
Post by: Terry on September 19, 2009, 06:59:32 pm
Just bought a used Gibson SG "special" (as in "less special" than the standard).  The first thing, 2 "Gibson" potentiameters crapped out on me.  I certainly didn't replace them with any "special" GIBSON potentiameters.

Me thinks they be off shore matties.

All the pots I can think of in Gibsons are good CTS pots.  I'm guessing there was some other problem.

Yeah unless someone threw in some pots out of a epiphone they had laying around, they tend to be pretty cheap, on a SG jr with bolt on neck epi I have it uses mini pots.
