Post by: chocopower on October 30, 2009, 06:36:03 am
Hello from Spain!

The original trafo is marked in another schematic as "TF-E-6400"
Regards from Spain!

Mercury Magnetics have an original replacement, but i think 40$ is pay too much for a reverb driver....

Yes, you can use the Fender type.

I've got the same amp. It was a mess and I completely refinished it.
Can you post a picture?

The only mod i have done to this baby are the usual safety ones and rise the P.I. coupling cap from 500pf to 1000pf. The original one is perfect for humbuckers, but  i use it with a Jazzmaster and need the extra punch.
Next time i opened it (what a nightmare!!) i have the idea to install a "fat" swicht to change betwen the two values (two 1000pf caps in series, shorting one of them with a swicht).
Amp was found in rubish for a friend of mine. No speaker. RCA 6V6 inside. After the cap job and others minor works is working like a charm with a Weber 12F150. Original 6V6 are ok too. 270 ohm bias resistor rise his value to 800 ohm, so bias was so cold that keep the tubes in a good condition.

I have one of these in great condition with the original speaker. It sounds beautiful!
