I'm collecting parts for a tele custom RI.
why is it that every pick guard I get doesn't match the holes on the body?
Its a genuine fender body and all 3 pickguards are from the same 72 RI MIM coustom??
the holes are close on most, but certainly not close enough and there is always a few that are not even close!
I contacted Angela Instrument BEFORE (this time) buying a new replacement and they said they would almost gaurentee that ANY pickguard wouldn't match, but didn't explain why.
any one have a clue?
***EDIT***
I have come to grips with the fact I will have to build one myself, I'm considering aluminum and polishing to a mirror, is this too soft? will it scratch too easy?
Stainless would be awsome, but I know what a bitch that stuff is to work without hardening it

Try WD (http://www.wdmusic.com/). And if they don't have it, they can make it - though it will be more expensive. They have more pickguard templates than anyone, though.

Thanks for that link, I had came across them before and since fogot/lost thier information.
Like I said, I'll make my own at this point, (it's a great excuse for me to buy myself an oscilating spindle sander)
I'm just trying to figure out why the pick guard holes are all over the place.
