Title: Pulsing LED update #2
Post by: loogie on December 17, 2009, 08:33:37 pm
Everything falling into place now.  Fantastic results.  Here's what my friend in London offered:

"I also wonder whether it would be appropriate to inform PRR that his genius has not been altogether wasted? Perhaps he's beyond all that."

Yet another satisfied customer.  We are most fortunate.

Well, 99.9% wasted is better than 100%, so thanks. (I'm feeling a little dumb today; or perhaps just overwhelmed by dumbness.)

May I ask: what is the point of this glowing ice-ball?

The frozen ball, about the size of a large grapefruit, will appear during a musical performance of some kind and passed among the audience.  I asked my friend:

Maybe part of true genius is the ability to ask the hard questions. PRR's certainly come up with a poser there.
You're description of the intended use is pretty accurate. It will form part of a larger presentation. How great and what kind of part is something that is almost certainly only vaguely apparent to the actual participants let alone back room types such as ourselves. The show will be developed and tour in arctic Norway next January. After that anything else I could tell you would be strictly guess work.
The actual point of it all is probably a subject best left for greater minds than ours to ponder and history to decide.

I would imagine it will be mostly music, but the performer is a person I would categorize as part musician, part humorist, part performance artist.
