Title: Speakers for a 4x12" ....
Post by: rzenc on January 07, 2010, 11:17:44 am
Hi forum..
So... the title says it all... however I should say that the amp in question will be a kind-of dumblish 50W, with some extra stuff... we will be driving a pair of 6550 and I would like to hear what you guys have been using with the Dumb O.D. - customer is interested in EV12L, Celestion Gold or G12-30H....
I know it is really subjective and depends a lot on guitars and playing skills.. but in general lines.. what are your impressions and what sounded best to your ears????

Thanks in advance...

Best Regards

My son's amp is basically a Marshall Plexi with a Hoffman hot switch mod, switched like a Reverand Hellhound. He has 4 - 12" Eminence Governors in his cab. It sounds great. I think there are dozens of other speakers that would sound just as good, from Weber Signatures on the low end to Eminence Red Fangs, if you've got the $$$ to burn. Eminince has sound files on their website, and I've never heard a bad word said about any Weber.
