I just got the Roku HD player ($99) and I got to say that this thing is awesome.
http://www.roku.com/roku-products
It streams video on demand through your High speed internet connection and plays on your TV
At the moment it is limited to 720P HD, which is fine for me.
I ran a lan cable from a computer over to my home theater setup.
You can also receive the signal via your wireless network, but I prefer a wired connection for speed and stability.
The player has HDMI, component, and a couple other video/sound outs on the back
It's very tiny and does not take up much space.
You can watch instantly all the movies or tv shows you add to your Netflix instant watch queue.
It remembers the exact point you stopped watching and will resume.
You can pause, fast forward, go back, etc and start playing again.
If you add a TV series, it will offer up the next episode after you have finished.
You can rate the movies, shows, etc.
You can remove it from your Netflix queue after you have watched it.
The fun goes on and on.
You can also watch and listen to Amazon video on demand, Pandora music channel, several other channel like MLB, facebook photos, etc
Instant on demand TV viewing in Hd is pretty cool and now I am hooked
