http://www.archive.org/ (AKA "The Wayback Machine") used to be a great place to find old info from old webpages & such, but seems to have stopped archiving in 2008.
Am I right, or am I doing something wrong? Every search I do stops around the middle of 2008 (August, usually).

looks that way to me too, this is a job for PRR

"My old site" has archives to 2001.
It used to run into the 1990s.
Google.com (http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://google.com) shows archives to 1998.

both my sites stop mid 2008, no more way back after mid 2008
severl others I checked were the same
Did the wayback stop archiving?

PRR, yes, there are archives going back to the 1990's, but I'm looking in the other direction.......newer web page archives.
Look at the Google link you posted. It stops on August 22, 2008. It seems that around that time all archiving ceased. There are no "new" archives past that general date on any of the websites I have searched.

The wayback web site says it can take up to 6 months for the archives to appear, but maybe they meant 6 years?

Further down the FAQ it says "Please note that there is a 6 - 14 month lag time between the date a site is crawled and the date it appears in the Wayback Machine."
The last Google date is 22 Aug 2009. 16 months.
Two sites I used to maintain are even further behind.
Maybe it is constipated?
