I've been using & collecting old ('50's & 60's) Simplicity garden tractors for about 15 years. They're real work-horses, just like tube amps!

I like their ad:

"There are 9 great mowers in the world. Simplicity makes 8 of them."
Any pics of yours?

Good ad!

I had an Allis Chalmers which was in fact a Simplicity painted yellow. A-C makes BIG machines, but they wanted to be a one-stop dealer for all your tractor needs from 60,000 pounds to 600 pounds, so they re-badged the Simplicity. Had the Chevy generator on a belt as a starter, the deluxe vari-cone belt drive, and I think 2 more HP than Simplicity was selling at the time. EXCELLENT mower deck.

I've bought Craftsman riders since moving to the "farm" we live at. All big 25hp Kohler jobs with 50" decks. My dad bought a John Deere several years back (a 425 hydrostatic with full hydraulics for attachments) and always told me how much better it was than the Craftsman he USED to own. When he passed away a few years ago, I bought it from the estate. OMG! Craftsman/Vega....JD/Rolls! Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING is top notch. The mower deck is unreal and I have cut grass that would be more suited for a brush hog and it did not even drop an rpm. I can pull the deck off and put on the snow blade in 15 minutes - taking my time with no heavy lifting.
A friend of mine had a lawn care business in high school and bought 4 big Simplicity hydrostatic riders. We cut thousands of yards and pushed snow with them in the winter. Never had a problem - they were awesome machines!

I now need sumthin bigger, but while shopping I found the big model in "my" series:

Mine was a B110, different engine, and didn't have the air deflector in front of the steering wheel. That's an aftermarket seat of course. All the yellow iron in front came-with. That mower deck is HEAVY, but would cut wild weeds without strain and pretty neat, wonderful cut on lawn. I see the dealer is asking $1600 for the set.
