Title: 5879 Blues Amp
Post by: tubenit on March 27, 2010, 04:24:09 pm
Until I built my T-Lite 5879 OD ......... this was my favorite and #1 amp. I play it with both 6V6's w/ 5Y3GT ....OR 5881's with 5V4 GT.

It's essentially a 6V6 version of DaGeezer's HoSo56. I have a post PPMIV in it and I am not as impressed with the PPMIV as I am the VVR.  The VVR retains the original tone much better to my ears at lower volumes.

When I used it with 5881's and the 5V4 rectifier, the sound man for the band stated he really liked the tone and thought it had a
very "warm thick" tone & that it cut thru the band nicely. I usually play with JJ 6V6's.

With respect, Tubenit

This file won't open in Eagle - probably because it's too old. Any chance you could post an updated version or in another format? Thanks

Those files are not meant for eagle. You need ExpressSCH for those *.sch files. It's free. Google it.
