Title: Where to get components in Canada?
Post by: New2ampsman on April 04, 2010, 09:24:32 am
I realise that there are many great mail order component sources on the web - not the least of which is Hoffman Amplifiers, but I was wondering if anybody knows of a "walk-in" type of store in Toronto or Southern Ontario that has a good inventory of passive components for building tube amps. International orders outside Cnada can be plagued with delays and shipping costs and import duties can sometimes be very prohibitive. Thanks

I always get my tubes from here:

Hamilton, Ontario. They sell some caps and things, also. Great guys to deal with.

I live in St. Catharines and I also have dealt with the Tube Store, Nu-tech electronics in Hamilton and Nu-tech in St.Catharines.  If you are in the toronto area give A1 Electronics on Queen st a try.A1 is a bit crowded with surplus and used stuff but they have alot of tube stuff.  A good selection of Hammond transformers also.
