Hi Gentlemen, for the life of me I can't figure this one out. I've sat and looked at this schematic for I can't tell you how long.
I've wired a set of Hofner 511Bs into my bass, as per the diagram. It works as Hofner said it should.
Switch to Rhythm or Solo
Bass on, Treble on, no signal.
Bass off, Treble off = both pickups on
Bass off, Treble on = bridge pickup on
Bass on , Treble off = neck pickup on
I have a Hofner and double checked it with that bass and it is identical. I understand how the bottom pickup is turned off, it goes to a dead end, but I can't figure out how the top pickup is turned off. Switches in either position, the top pickup seems has a path to the Rhythm/Solo switch, what am I missing?
Thanks for any help
Rob

Looks like you (possibly) have the switches wired backwards(?), since they are operating backwards.....

In this schematic both switch bars are in the up position, both pickups are on. This is what Hofner calls the off position. I don't care about the on or off position, everything works fine. I'm curious as to when the switch bars are in the down position how the top pickup is turned off. In this schematic the (bass on) is in the correct postion where as the (treble on) should be lowered to the bottom of the switch.

Thanks again

I figure I might as well post a picture of my bass. This is my first scratch build and I'm kind of proud of it and the Hofner pickups do sound sweet.
Thanks
