Here is my latest thrift store score:

It needs a bridge, otherwise it is fairly intact. It is a stereo guitar, the two knobs are volume L & R feeding the two jacks respectively. There is a third Jack on the back (!) which is ring-tip-sleeve and currently disconnected. Evidently it was for an external effects switching set-up. I'm thinking that one of the two 4P2T black slide switches once controlled that. The slide switches have been re-soldered. Currently one of the black switches is wired between the pots and the pick-up switching array while the other is just used as a grounding lug:

The pickup selector switch is one of those spring-loaded sliding wafer types which makes contact via "fingers" at the top. It needs some work (springs) but looks to be OK. There are some caps under the pc board between the pickups, I'll have to draw out a schematic to figure the whole thing out, although the numbering on the sliders seems to be right:

I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have a schematic, or other information on this rare bird? These guitars sell on eBay for well over $1000 in Japan, I'd like to get as much information as I can before I attempt to bring it back.
Ry Cooder has one:

Eastwood guitars issued a Chinese remake a few years ago, in mono with simplified switching:

looks like a keeper

Yeah, I think I'll have to make it playable just for its "retro-cool" factor. The body is BIG! The 2nd and third pickups only have three pole-pieces, on opposite sides, to enhance the stereo effect, I think.

OH the JAPANITY! Cool!

Kool geetar! If it is the right era, it's probably well built.Enjoy.

It's coming along- the thick polyurethane finish on the body had cracked in several places and even had spots of bare wood showing, it's get redone now. The PUs are 7.9kΩ with 44 gauge wire, although I think they might be microphonic in the metal housing- they aren't potted. It's pretty well made, it plays well, the neck is good. I'll post again when it is presentable. (http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/2PDC38XNq7zmmsW168iYWWwtd2zWBrgP3GSmtwyResQ?feat=directlink)

Here is the Guyatone, restored to its former "glory". It is actually is a good guitar, although the neck is very narrow. The PUPS sound good- bright but not shrill, the push-button switching actually is pretty usable. I've got it set up mono, the stereo thing is kind of awkward. The Mustang bridge had to be narrowed to fit the string spacing.
The jack is on the back of the lower bout- surprisingly, it doesn't get in the way.
