Has anyone build their own audio cable tester?
I need to build one to test XLR,1/4",RCA and speak-on cables.
I can't seem to google anything.

seems you could just use a volt meter. Or get fancy: wire up some XLR, 1/4" RCA and speak-on jacks in a box with test pin jacks for your meter's probes. Or get fancier and use a battery or dc supply to check polarity. You may be able to jerry rig something with spare parts & equipment you already have.

4 jacks, 2 switches, a lamp, a battery, & sumthin to put it in.
