Title: Cool Cat Vibe / Delay / Volume Boost Cure
Post by: plexi50 on June 26, 2010, 08:02:53 pm
I found these pics and mod info online. Wasnt easy to find. This pedal sounds pretty dam nice to me

I gave up the idea of spending $300.00 for a Deja Vibe 2

Volume Boost Cure
To fix the slight volume-boost you add a 100k or 120k in parallel to the existing 47k in the feedbackloop of the output stage (Tl072 IC on the bottom right on the PCB.
Put the 100K resistor between pin 7 and pin 6

Delay cure: The LED will pulsate and the 2 second delay in Vibe will be cured.  The B+ is rewired to activate the lamp faster. See pic's

Sweet! I've been looking for a good vibe effect and was also not at all ready to blow $300. Those things appear to sell for as low as $40!!

I wonder if the delay was a poor simulation of a leslie spinning up?

The delay was due to the photo bulb not having any voltage to it before the footswitch is stomped on
This mod cures all that. I just finished mine and man it is pretty cool

It is a tad muddy to me so there needs to be some more work to shine this up a bit

Where i go from here i dont know just yet / Otherwise the affect is there and it's worth the $59.00 i payed for it.

A little shine and this will be a great little pedal / I wish i had a camera and tripod to make video clips. I want to play!

This Sony Mavica FD83 only takes 15 second videos. 144 MB floppies

Update: After further review the pedal is not muddy sounding at all / It was the mud in my ears from a long day

It does a pretty decent Robin Trower. Thats what i was after. Happy Dance!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the link.  I have a couple of other vibe projects on the bench at the moment.  It will be fun to see how this one stacks up to those.

I bought one of these myself for about $40 new. I didn't like the enclosure it was in because the knobs were on the back, right above the I/O jacks. I don't know whose dumb idea that was. Anyway, I decided to try and put the pedal in a new box. It worked very well.

I must do the volume mod as it does, on average, get louder and noisier when it is turned on.
