Title: Are these Wimas Worth Anything?
Post by: jerryjg on July 01, 2010, 09:27:46 am
I found four old Wima Caps. Are they any good? Are they worth anything? If so, what can they be used for guitar caps?

If they don't leak, they're worth using. 2uF is a bit large for a guitar tone cap.

But they might make excellent cathode bypass caps, with the bass slightly shaved.

CDE (Cornell-Dubilier), not Wima.

Good quality, check them for leakage.

These aren't high end, expensive caps.... and one looks as if it may be leaking (lower right in pic). I'd spend the $3 or $4 for Mallorys and not have to worry about whether or not they're good.
