Title: Cadillac records
Post by: EL34 on July 25, 2010, 04:35:28 pm
Just finished watching Cadillac records, the story of chess records.

One of those, based on a true story movies
Muddy Waters, Howlin wolf, Little walter, Etta James, Willie Dixon, Chuck Berry.

The actors were all excellent and the story was good.

Watched it on Netflix instant watch.

It's a Starz movie and so it's not in HD format, but worth a watch

here's the link on Netflix, you can watch instanly

I have watched that DVD several times--pretty true to the way BLUES was back then.

I bought one of Little Walter's AMPS at an auction (A 30 Watt MASCO) with an Astatic MIC--Didn't really know what I had until after selling it.  WELL...............

A Blues Player that  works at the Nashville Gibson Plant still has the Amp.

Loved the actor that played Muddy
Although it was hard at times to understand what he was saying

The Howlin Wolf actor was a bit scary, huh?

Beyonce looked hot as usual, IMO

Wow!
I need to check that out.

Ever see "The soul of a man"?
Yeah, the lip sync isn't perfect, etc. but Win Wenders does a good job.

yeah, too bad it's been re-formated by Starz

All their stuff on Netflix is reduced in quality
But it's available to watch, and that's a big plus

Cool stuff.  I liked Mos Def as Chuck Berry.

Muddy's music will never die.
