Title: American Standard Strat
Post by: Tiny_Daddy on August 02, 2010, 07:32:21 pm
I have an American Strat with an open neck pickup. Looks like the plastic cover got stuck in the coil varnish and pulled a couple of windings loose. Is there a place to buy just the neck pickup?

there are plenty of ways to skin that cat...rewind that one or get a vintage fender/ I guess it depends what you are after, Fender replacement? I put a tone-rider in my jazz bass as a temp. cheap replacement till I could have the original rewound.....I'll probably get it done someday ....but the tonerider is just fine ....I got it on E-bay for 35 dollars......there are tons of p-ups on e-bay I'm sure others will chime in on favorites....there are a couple of rewinders on e-bay too. The prices are reasonable with a fast turn-around

Any Fender dealer or warranty center can get them for you.  For that matter, just about any music store can get some Fender pickups from some wholesaler or another.  If you call a warranty center (me, for instance) with your serial number they can call a Fender guitar tech and have them send out a direct replacement (assuming they are still making the same pickups, of course).
