I was given this 9-pin tube by a guy who finds old, beat-up organs and either fixes them or parts them out. At some point there was red lettering or numbers on one side and white on the other but this is almost completely worn off. All I can make out now is what I think says "8Y7" and below that "85J2" - this is in black/dark grey.
Anybody know what it is?

Maybe 6BY7. If you look carefully inside the tube at the bottom you can see which pins connect to what: filament, cathode, shield, etc.

Yep - then you'll know where to stick it into to be able to stick it in and fire it up
