String Spacing - Short Scale Bass
« on: March 21, 2011, 09:58:05 pm »
Hey all.

I came into an old Kent bass body that needs a bridge. I put on a standard P-bass replacement but the spacing from E to G was way too wide and the strings run off the finger board towards the bottom. Does anybody have advice on what sort of spacing I should be looking for? There doesn't seem to be a lot of aftermarket bass bridges that are smaller than the 2 1/4" or so of the P-bass bridge. Maybe the Dano Longhorn bridge?

It's got a 30" scale length and the neck is about 1.5" at the nut and 2.15" at the edge of the fingerboard

Thanks.

-Dave
