4uf 25V cap in 62 bandmaster?

THe schematic for my 62 bandmaster calls for a 4Uf 25V cap.  Whoever had it before me put a 2uf 16V.  What should I replace it with?  I can't find any 4uf 25V caps.  Any suggestions?   Thanks

Use a 4.7uf 50v that Hoffman sells. It will be fine.

How many different "BandMasters" did Fender make?

5E5  shows no 2 or 4u caps.
6G6  shows a 2u 25V in the trem modulator.
6G7A shows a 4u 25V in the trem modulator.

I would guess that the circuit will work very much the same with 2u, 4u, or 5u. If you are on a tweak-quest, try all values from 0.68u to 47u. However the differences may be quite slight (unless the cap is dead). 4.7u is the new 4u. If there is a 3.3u on your bench, it should work good also.

In all cases the voltage is under 4V, use at least a 6V cap. Values like 4u at 6V are so very small that they are usually stocked in 25V or 50V.

Yes, Hoffman's 4.7u 50V is the obvious choice if you are ordering parts. However older VCRs and cassette machines have 3.3u 4.7u 16V+ caps galore, if you are into scavenge.

  Yes it is the 6G7A. It is the cap in the trem modulator. It has a 2uf 16V cap there and I am going to try the 4.7uf 50V there and see what it does.
