Hi guy's, I listen alot to joe bonamassa and can't get past the sound that he has. These clips is the sound i'd like to produce (and his technique and speed .........)anyway in particular in Happier Times @ 2.18 and The Great Flood @ 2.40 i like the tone and the way the note hangs on and then breaks up in a soulful way

.
The Slow Drive 84 was my attempt to achieve this by starting with an amp that has tone to boot in Tubenits SoLow watt amp and adding an FX pedal in front, the thought was there but not the knowledge, again not happy

I built the Marshall silver Jubilee that has a clipping circuit in it thinking that was where it is at, but its too distorted and doesn't breakup nicely. The marshall is a big part of joe's rig along with alot of other gizmos and one being the copper top fuzzface. So is this where he gets his MOJO

All this got me thinking AGAIN

The original TOS had an added FATTNESS by dialling in an extra triode via a pot this was great and added some real depth and the jubilee's clipping circuit added the breakup (all be it too much but i'm sure the combo of leds and diodes could tame this) although the FUZZFACE is more transistors than diodes which gives it its beautiful breakup.
When on the net i found a tube 6AL5/BE91 diode that has been used to replace silicon diodes in clipping circuits ( although no schems found on how these are intergrated ) hoping that the diode tube might bit more smoother on the breakup
Rather than the triode just adding depth when dialled in ( this is a good feature)could some of these other addons give me a similar sound, OVERDRIVE but not to distortion and FUZZ but not to funky.
I liked the "FATNESS" feature of the original TOS and even Tubenit has found that replacing the 5879 with a paralleled triodes sounded great in the SoLow Watt, i think that having a extra triode to play with it could evolve into something more, i just don't have the smarts to nut it out.

Thanks
