Custom Vibrolux Reverb Speaker Jacks
« on: December 18, 2012, 09:11:22 pm »
I recall having to reverse the Green and Black speaker output leads on an old bassman years ago. This is wired Green ground & Black positive as that bassman was. Before i tack the feedback wire in place i though i would ask. Heres a pic of what i found online and one i took of the wiring as it is stock. I would think the green and black would be reversed

You are not going to get a negative feedback if you wire it to ground,so it has to go to the positive terminal. The reason for the reversed wiring is the same reason the AB165 bassman is wired that way,the amount of gain stages before the PI.It's all about phase. You will find out soon enough if it's wrong anyway.Squeeeeeeeaaaallllllllllll!!!!

The NFG always goes to the + terminal,no matter if it's the black or green wire on that terminal.

Right on the neg feedback going to pos terminal. Just seems odd to see the green on the neg terminal. It was working before anyway. I just did all the mods to get the amp in Vibrolux territory. This one went smooth and fast tonight. I didnt have any breaking wire issues as in the past. The wire used on this unit appears to be a much better grade of wire. I will flip it on tommorrow

You mean Vibroverb territory don't you? I've done a few of those conversions and never wanted to change any back, that's for sure!
