Plate Voltage Question
« on: August 30, 2014, 11:16:43 pm »
Hi All

I am about to start my next build. It is going to consist of some circuit re working. The basis is the Hoffman AC30 schematic. What I am planning on doing is this. I do not want to have two inputs. I only want to use the top boost. But instead of eliminating the normal input (consists only half a triode and volume) I want to add it to the top boost as an additional gain stage.

My question about plate voltage is this.

Can I use the same source of plate voltage for two tubes? Meaning, run the the plate voltage from an existing tube, in parallel with my added stage?

yes
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!
