How to repair a bent lug
« on: June 23, 2023, 07:27:24 am »
If one of your turret lugs get bent or broken, you can replace it with a new lug

The back side of the new lug will not be as pretty as it once was, but it's on the back and not visible
The top side of the lug will look perfect

Instructions:
Tip the board over
Use a drill bit that is sightly larger than the flared out Lug
A 5/32 inch drill bit or slightly larger will work
Drill the flared out portion of the Lug
Don't drill too deep
Pull the old Lug out

Insert a new Lug
Tip the board upside down again
Let the it rest on a hard surface on the tops of all the Lugs
Tap the back side of the new Lug lightly with a round tool
A round screw driver will work
Lugs are made of brass and very soft
It does not take much pressure to flare out a Lug
The new lug is flared out now and firmly in place

The images below are not perfectly in focus, but you can see how it all works
